I received a wonderful email from a friend (thanks Skye Miller!) documenting the way she experienced the change in time last month. You might recall we were in the month of Scorpio/Aquila and moving into Sagittarius. Here is how she noticed the change in some tangible ways…
“Last night we welcomed the full moon and hoped it would bring along this next sweet season...and for us it has arrived. This morning I went out for a morning stroll and stopped at the end of our driveway to look up into the bright blue, clear sky. I was amazed when I saw a HUGE (I mean like 5-6ft wing span!) eagle soaring through the air above our home. I kept blinking trying to figure out if it was in the Spirit or not. It was the most beautiful thing, it flew over us for a minute and then turned towards the sun and flew straight for it and out of sight. I knew that was Aquila waving goodbye…”
I always like hearing about moments like these, so feel free to leave a comment on the blog page if you’d like to share with our online community. As for this month, we are currently in Sagittarius – the archer. There is a great Biblical reference about sons being like arrows (Psalm 127), and we might even get our modern notion of cupid shooting his arrows of love from this celestial symbol. Put it all together and you have a recipe for romantic love and procreation. It’s a great reminder of the first commission ever given to Man – be fruitful and multiply! I think it’s tons of fun to consider our heavenly Father’s romantic side, and to know that this is a valid expression of love that He created.
The Mosaic Law in the Old Testament is called the Torah. The word “Torah” is often interpreted as wisdom or teaching. So, it isn’t exactly a law in the way we might think of it. But, the word itself can be translated as “hitting the mark.” To hit the mark, much like the Sagittarius hits his target, is an expression of perfection. Not the stressful kind of perfection, in which we try to live up to some self-imposed standard. Rather, it’s the glorious and effortless kind of perfection that Adam had before the fall. So, when we see this sign in the sky, we are also seeing an invitation to explore what effortless perfection feels like.
(Okay, so this last picture of Sagittarius is a little cheesy…but I think it's kinda romantic too. In other words, spare me your comments about my cheesy picture)
