Abundance is all about having more than you think you deserve. More grace, more resources, more favor, and more blessings. And, abundance isn’t wasteful. When there is an abundance of everything, there is plenty for you and your friends; and there’s still plenty left over. In an environment of abundance, everyone around you is experiencing the same thing. That means there is no lack, no poverty, and therefore, no need.
The heavenly realms are an abundant environment, and it will take some getting used to only because this mortal dimension is so full of need, lack, and scarcity. Anyone who has lived for more than 5 seconds can tell that the economies of the world are established on scarcity. The clinical term for this is “supply and demand.” But, what that really means is that as long as resources are scarce, there will be a consumer demand. And so it goes...we will keep chasing money; keep buying advertised products; keep feeding into the system of scarcity and lack.
It’s surprisingly well known that there is enough energy in wind, solar, geo-thermal, and tidal sources that everyone on the planet could have all the energy they could need – and more. That’s right, there is more than enough energy to go around if such a thing was allowed. So, why doesn’t that happen? Because that would eliminate the scarcity of resources. Without scarcity, the entire economic systems of the world would collapse; and there are a lot of powerful people that don't want that to happen. If you’re thinking, “Gee, heaven is really different from the fallen earth and its systems,” than you are definitely getting the picture here.
So, what does all this have to do with the cosmic clock?
The sign for this month is Capricorn! It’s the famous sea-goat. Remember? It’s that weird creature that is half goat and half fish. Don’t ask me how that symbol came about, because I really don’t know. The part I’ve always focused on pertains to the name of the constellation. It means “horn of the goat,” or “the great horn.” It’s also connected to the word, “cornucopia,” which is the horn of plenty – a symbol of abundance. I’d like to acknowledge up front that I think there is a lot we still haven’t discerned about this sign. Even though I’m sticking to the “great horn of plenty” idea, you might have a different thought or experience about this month. If so, please feel free to share that with us in the comments section. Personally, I noticed a big change last week in my own heavenly encounters. Whenever I would take time in the Spirit to be in my heavenly home, I noticed that everything seemed to be growing and changing before my eyes. The eternal home that I had come to know so well suddenly expanded in all directions and increased in size, scope, and complexity. It was a lot to take in, and frankly, it took me buy surprise. It seemed like far more than I ever needed. I wondered aloud to the Lord why all this was happening, and His response was simply, “abundance.” Have fun looking for the effects of Capricorn this month, but don’t miss out on experiencing abundance in the one environment where moth and rust can’t destroy.
Do you have an abundance story? Please share it with us. We appreciate your funny comments too (just check out the last month’s blog), so don’t feel bad about just kidding around…
(that last line was a really bad attempt at Capricorn humor. Get it?…“kidding”)
